wrx's are not that light , you better off with early 4th gen body, neat idea(well its cool to throw a ls1 into alot of things) but thats about all it is, unless you just trying to be an odd ball and have both sitting around doing nothing and no other projects happening i guess i would do it

IMO they are heabier partialy because of the AWD setup. Take that out of the factor which this guy is doing and you are lightning it up a little. THe 04 WRX wagon weighs 3165 lbs. It isnt all that heavy, but yes I would agree that its somewhat heavy for the size of the car

yeah even the sti setup wont last that long...imports mostly dont have high torque which this thing will make. sti ' are 300 but that would be 300+ at a lower RPM, most sti's that swap turbos make power later in the rpm range. that would make sic torque numers and modding will only be more probs of the issue

then again anything is possible ive seen 350's in crx's that were converted to RWD and thats a shorter car

Why not just buy a CAR with the LS1 in it?

Seems like a lot of work to me......

RX7 FB, FC, or FD are all under 2800lbs and will EASILY fit an LS1 and turbo into them. Give me about 6 months and ill have a ford 302 or LT1 in mine. Havent decided which route to go yet.
