Header Wrap Info

Click and read the link, makes sense....what do you all think for our cars with headers/PEM's wrapped.

My question would be....would the same effects take place if just a 3" downpipe were wrapped?

If you think header wrap on a downpipe it gonna mess it up, what would be a good way to quiet down a 3" downpipe with a flex in it?

My headers are Jet-hot coated and wrapped. Wrap keeps things cooler under the hood than any coating period. I've had both, and the Jet-hot is great and all, but wrap is better.

That being said, if the wrap routinely gets wet, it will disentegrate a pipe in under a year.

So wrapping the flex on a downpipe would be a bad idea.....right?

When I get my downpipe, I dont want any of that annoying ticking noise Ive heard on others. Or does this just come with the territory.

It would have to be waterproof, and heatproof.

I dontl iek the whole wrap idea because of destroying your headers..

I just sent mine to jet hot and they were great.

when did tog's come out? Im running one of the first sets made and they have been wraped the whole time. they are second hand to me. Not a lick of rust/out what so ever.

the wrap doesnt get that bad it takes a bad winter or two to get moldie enough to cause rust.
just do it if you dont trust it, just change the wrap every other winter or so

that did help under hood temps. if you have cooling mods it takes longer to bake on. ...ie 160drilled thermo, fan switch,DHP turn on.
