How much are the prices to replace the ball joints on our cars?

Id rather just swap out the whole control arm w new bushings if the price is not to steep.
The bushings are looking a little worn.

Prices for ball joint or control are assembly please?  Where to purchase as well.

50.00=ball joint, 85.00=labor
the best price I got was 85.00 at mechanics unlimited, but WILLNOT ever use them again, STAY FAR AWAY, trust me on this

lug nuts hammered on 250LBS
axle shaft NUT almost impossible to remove 250LBs+
ripped my hub wires apart

but hey! my ball joint is all good.. :rolleyes:

woah you're one brave man. have you done a search on clubgp? my ball joints where going bad so I decided to "try" to replace then I had air tools and couldn't break the studs off.. so I just bought two entire control arms for 100 bucks a piece and it's only three bolts to replace them.

What I ment was that I want to swap in a completly new unit, as in, the entire control arm, ball joint, bushings, etc.

Is there a place where we can get a completly new unit? Dealer? :angry: Cost?

If I go through taking it apart I want a BRAND NEW unit on the car.

I have heard you need a special tool to set the one bushing that runs vertically?  Is this correct?

Calling dealer......

what? it's four bolts, two for the unner bushings, one for the ball joint, one for the control arm.

edit: just go look at one at a dealer you'll get a much better idea you don't need any spechial tools.

you will need an alingment after you replace them tho it throws off your alingment.

John, there is a GM parts department in Oaklawn, its off of Southwest Highway & Cicero, kind of behind the Enterprise Car Rental Center. They might be of more help then a dealer.
