I was searching for some dyno numbers for a stock GTP. I remember people saying GTP's are underestimated and they produce more power than GM says they do (on clubgp). But GM but advertizes lower HP ratings so people save on insurance or somthing. Someone said a stock GTP can will put down 250-260HP/290-300TQ at the crank stock.

I found some sites with dyno numbers for stock GTP's.

http://www.thrashercharged.com/L67_htm/dynodata.shtm
195HP/265HP @ the wheels with only a cat-back exhaust

http://dynoperformance.com/search_details....=296&safeid=296
199HP/233TQ @ the wheels stock.

Why is the torque so diffrent on these dynos? Anyone know what a stock GTP will do on a dyno?

Ratings are from two different ends. At the wheel and at the crank are totally different. Your gonna get less at the wheels because of eveything else the engine needs to power in order for the car to run. At the crank will always be more because its just and engine running by itself, it's not powering an alternator, pumps, transmission etc. etc. etc.

Correct me if im wrong but thats why the numbers seem so weird. I dont measure power in HP I measure it in 1/4 mile. ;)

Yeah I know that. GTP's make around 240 crank HP and around 200 wheel HP. But I was asking how one dyno shows a almost stock GTP making 265 wheel TQ while another making is 233 wheel TQ.
