it would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. However, the GP people should have just left the thread alone. Fact is that everyone on these different forums think they have the best cars, thats why they got them. I may not like mustangs or some of the drivers, but what people forget is that we are ALL car people and that is what creates the bond, so......CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG??? haha, I couldn't resist.

You say that a stock GTP will take a zx2 s/r (was a joint venture in 2000 with 8 aftermarket companies working together, this is not a typical model as it is rare to find). I'm betting you have never seen one. I used to own one, and that car could move. You would take the zx2 s/r off the line but you would definately loose from 50 above. I had my zx2 s/r against my brothers 2001 GTP special edition and it was a close match. I would deffinately take him about 50 mph but he would have a car length on me at 35 mph. However I would overtake him for sure by 75-80 mph. The car hands down would out handle the gtp no comparison at all. Oh yeah, I had the car up to 140mph, the car could still go maybe a little faster, speedo goes to 150mph. I was in the process of building a turbo system for it before the accident. It was going to have a gt28r ball bearing turbo, intercooler, alky injection, full 3 inch borla exhaust,SCT tuned, but unfortunately the trans blew before I finished installing the kit. I abused the hell out of that car. Oh yeah I do own a 97 GTP now and both cars have their own advantage. However, I've learned to never to underestimate a car, since money can make any car fast.

This was 1:500 that were made.

I know every well what a Escort S/R is. Its a limited production Escort, it has upgraded Zetec Motor, upgraded suspension, 5-speed etc. My dad owns a body shop in Schaumburg, he actually had one in his shop last week. The car was from Lomard Toyota, and my dad was painting the fender on it because it had a scratch. You can check out the car here:

I checked this car out pretty good because I have never seen one upclose before and I knew they were rare. I was actually talking to the dealer over there at Lombard Toyota, and I was telling him this Escort was rare and he could put it on eBay for more attention. He kept telling me it was a piece if shit Escort.

So tell me again how is this car faster than a stock GTP? Ive never seen any 14 second timeslips for stock S/R's most ive seen were mid to high 15's. Thats pretty fast for a small compact car, good competition for Civic SI's, but not really as fast as a GTP.

The S/R might be kinda fast, but in the end, all it is, is a fast piece of shit.

I'm here, some of us have school and work. I raced twice at route 66 which I ran high 14.7 something and other was 14.8 something. Both time were revving to 3.5k rpm and slipping clutch to get a nice launch. I use to have a time slip I have to dig through my bedroom to see if I still have it. By the way I'm not new, I'm always on clubgp. Here is some of my posts before

By the way, you can't talk crap about a car you have never raced or driven in. Word of mouth is Bull Crap as we all know what the mustang owner say. The fastest zx2 is by Essingler Performance company which does the 1/4 mile in 10 flat. By the way that is N/A can you top that with a Grand Prix GT. No I didn't think so, only ZZP and Intense have their cars in the 9's forced induction to.

So you ran 14.7 BONE stock in your S/R? That seems really fast for a ~2400 pound car with 143HP/150TQ. Did you have weight reduction or something. How come all the times I could run for stock S/R's are almost a full second slower than yours? (mid-high 15's)

Thats cool, im also a GTP Member, been a member since 2003.

Im not talking crap, I just dont belive a S/R is faster than a stock GTP. I cant find anything on this N/A 10 second Escort or even Essingler Performance company for that matter, can you send some more info.

I owned a Green zx2 before, and here is a clip of the green zx2 N/A. Has upgraded rods pistons, 2 high torque cams (intake/exhaust), cam gears, intake, exhaust, header, PNP intake manifold, PNP head, Tune. The car on high octane fuel, had tall skinnies on the back to put more weight on front. I think the timeslip was like mid 11's. I had my buddy video tape me. I think that was also in North Carolina but I cant remember that one. Oh yeah by the way, my sister not owns my green zx2. I sold her it before I bought the red zx2 s/r. Maybe I can get her to race one of you guys in it.

Both Cars could easily run 11's however I never had the chance to dyno zx2 s/r.
As far as this goes, I would have probably smoke like 95% of you guys if not more. So watch it when you pull up to a zx2 and start talking crap, because somebody that knows a thing or to might put your v6 to shame. By the way I own a 97 GTP and love it. Both cars have there nice qualities and attributes.
