I installed a set of Crane 1:8 roller-rockers this past Friday and played a little on some empty roads with the LS1M. I saw as much as 6.99 during the last few hundred RPM before the first to second gear shift. It seemed to get a little better as the car warmed up. It occurs rather inconsistently too; sometimes I’ll get a degree or two right when I’d get on it.
Does the computer retard the timing in a way that it would show up as KR just before a shift?
Mods are as follows;
DHP
3.4 Pulley
180 Thermostat
CAI
Custom 3” down pipe w/o cat (the rest of the exhaust is stock)
Ported and wrapped manifolds
104’s
Could the stock exhaust (after where the cat used to be) be causing some of this? Should I be scanning any specific parameters to confirm that I’m not going to grenade a piston?
