How do i set my laptop up for an incoming connection to the internet?

This computer im on is wireless, the other one i have isnt'.

I was told...I can bascially get a crossover cable, and use this to connect to the net wirelessly, then using the cable, get my other one online?


Is it as simple at that or any idea? or was what i was told wrong?

no...im in a hotel in boston right now.


My personal pc takes wireless...or can be hooked up thru a cat5 cable for connection.

My work Pc has the wifi disabled and i can only get net access thru using a cat 5 connected to the port on back.. I need to be able to get install info, service calls etc...

I was told...by basically using my main laptop to connect to the net...my work laptop run with a crossover, i can basically tap into the net thru that...I just dont know how to set it up...or if this is at all possible...

I have a cingular sim card that i use to get calls etc when in the field, but its not in range here and need to get online...

ok a crossover is for connection computer to computer only.... do you want both online at the same time.... ?????

yes...because.......

my work laptop...cant get online wirelessly. the place im staying at only has wireless.......... my own other laptop with me..is online right now wirelessly. i was told i can use this one while connected wirelessly to basically feed into the other one and get it online...

go buy a wireless USB adapter it accepts wireless signal and brings it in to ur laptop through USB
