3800 attn: people with your drl's disabled

If you have your drl's disabled but pulling the plug on the drivers side under the dash I advise you to tape up the end of the wire with the plug. As I was driving home tonight my headlights went out but the fogs, high beams, and tails still worked. The end of the wire was touching the metal heat sink of the drl module causing a short on the low beam circuit. It really freaked me out I thought my alternator was craping out or something till I turned on the high beams and they were as bight as can be.

Interesting. Did it blow the bulbs or just short them?? Ive blown about 4 sets of bulbs in a year and a half since Ive done my DRLs. I thought they would prolong their life. LOL.

when i got home i just moved the wire a little and they came back on. So i guess it didnt blow the blubs just shorted them out.

never leave an open wire.


use electrical tape or better yet a wire nut.
