3800 Low Coolant

my low coolant light stays on longer then it should.. it goess off about 10 mins into the ride.. i fill the reserve up and checked the thermostat? perhaps just get a new thermo? or does someone else have an idea?

Is it actually loosing coolant? That's what you have to try and notice. If so, you have to ask where it's going.

Could be a number of things and you have to narrow it down.
Faulty sensor? Throttle body leak? Notice white smoke outa' your tailpipe? Radiator just not full enough?

air in the system can also cause the light to come on...

as jet mentioned, if you are always needing to add fluid, then you need to find out where it is going.
if you dont add fluid and the light just comes on, try bleeding the coolant system.

never had to add fluid and no white smoke., and no signs of a leak at all

then my suggestion would be to replace the thermostat and bleed the coolant system of air. that should solve the coolant light problem,

no the tips do not smoke when i turn the car off.
