3800 Fuel gage not working on my buddies 99GT

[LP 3800]

Do you think it is the gage itself or the fuel level sensor? I am working on this today and any past experience woul dbe great.

fuel level sensor, email ed morad for a deal. You might as well replace the fuel pump while you are in there.

Instead of getting one used, might as well get a new one for $45. The little prongs on the sender are very touchy.

where do you get a new one at for 45 bucks? The dealer wanted about 150 bucks for the "kit" and all the auto part stores sold it as a whole assembly. Just wondering cuz it couldnt find it for 45 bucks.

I just bought the whole assembly with fuel pump from Ed for like 45 bucks shipped. Swapped it out this weekend,and the gauge actually works again. I have heard that you can bend the little metal arms down to fix it. When you pull out the assembly you will see what I mean.
