3800 Air filter Installation

Ok what did most of you guys use to tie down the PCM tray. I'm installing it tomorrow with a new CAI. Their both used so I have no hardware. I know to use velcro to tie the airbox to the tray, but how about the PCM. Should use velcro as well?

I actually just zip-tied my PCM to my stock air filter, and then just set it under my open cone. It just gave it something to rest on so it was not flopping around...

what kind of CAI? I have mine just sitting underneath my thrasher pcm tray. Now that I think about it I might want to tie that up..

It's a trasher as well. I've looked at the tray once about a month ago. But it seems like the tray just sits on top of the pcm. So will the tray just move around or does it ahere to the pcm perfectly?

I havnt heard it hit anything, but it is safe to tie it up. You might want to get some of the BIG zipties to tie it down.

I was just on PFYC.com and had noticed they ask you for your vin number, but where I purchased mine I was not asked for one. Is this ok?

I was looking for the Installation instructions, that is all. I'm picking up the PCM tomorrow (UPS). So how about the vin?

pfyc is asking for your vin? I think its just so they know the parts are right for your car.

On my thrasher there is a rubber mat that sits on the car then the pcm sits on top of the rubber mat, then the pcm tray goes on top of the pcm, The tray is then bolted down to the car so nothing can move. After that you velcro the air box to the tray and wala. its done.

Thats a good idea I'm snatching some gasket material from work. So you had to drill holes on you car?

no drilling, you will see the holes at the bottom when you place the pcm
