Civic revs next to red GTP at stop light. GTP revs back acknowledging the race. The Civic looks decent; not too many stickers, nice 6 star black rims with machined lip, pod gauges, and nice cherry red paint job. Light ALMOST turns green. Civic jumps the gun, but quickly stops. Civic is now ½ car ahead of the GTP on the stop line. Green light - - -
Civic: long squeal !!
GTP: chirp … hand waving good bye out the window from the start.
No need to go into the race details – GTP pulls – blah blah – reaches super sonic speed - blah. We all know the general outcome of Civic vs GTP. Not even worth boasting.
Here’s the good part:
Civic driver: I HAD YOU MAN!
GTP driver: <a little confused>
Civic driver: I bogged down big time.
GTP driver: Sounds like you have a turbo?
Civic driver: Ya!
GTP driver: What do you run at the track?
Civic driver: I’ve never taken it to the track, but it should run mid 12’s.
GTP driver: That sounds about right (gracefully agreeing.)
Both cars keep slowly driving. While going down the road, I notice the Civic paging right, left and back as if looking for badges on my car. There were none to be found.
