once i get lower than 50miles... it says "LOW"

On 98 and up, you hold the reset button and it will show the mileage.

so what, iv been at zero several times, and have noticed that i can get a good 20-40 miles past when it goes under the red bar for E.

Fish.. i did notice one thing... when i upluged my battery to do some work on the car (gas low at the time) i pluuged it back in.. and the thing actually read like 30 miles.. all the way down to 5... so maybe it does work on mine?

From what I understand, the reset button trick only works on 98 and up with a digital DIC.

Yea, like Fish said for the 98 and up once you see it says "LOW" push and hold the reset button until the number comes back and that way you wont worry if you are going to run out of gas sooner than you think.

it will show you the millage, but once you turn the car off it will go back to low and you just have to do it again.
