so the SS seems to be running fine now.
turned out the double roller timing chain started to bump the oil pump and worked a bolt loose on the cam sprocket.
symptoms cured from the fix: no more cam sensor code
tach works
car starts up easier
no more dreaded ticking!
and the base tune i had on it was only running 17 degrees of timing (something about the low octane table got copied in the wrong place) up to 27 now, maybe more once speed inc puts it on the dyno next thursday. definitely has a little more grunt now.
and on the way home from springfield i got pulled over- THREE cops pulled me over for loud exhaust and gave me a ticket, figures.
anyone have an electric cutout that fits an Fbody borla exhaust? lol
