I got an email stating that the Elk Grove theatre is stepping up service for the Star Wars release. Check this out.

ELK GROVE THEATRE DELIVERS KODAK DIGITAL PRESENTATION.

The Elk Grove Theatre has become the first theatre in the nation to install the Kodak Digital Cinema system designed to show feature films in digital on cinema screens.  The system includes a Kodak CineServer and Barco 2K DP100 projector.  The Kodak Digital Cinema system presentation provides a much sharper image than conventional 35 mm film.  The on-screen picture has the clarity of a high-definition image.

"Star Wars" fans are in for a real treat when Star Wars:  Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith opens on May 19th in digital.  George Lucas has been very vocal about wanting his movie to play digitally and the Elk Grove Theatre will be one of a very limited number of theatres to present the film in digital.  Star Wars:  Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith will also be presented in 8 channel sound format (5 speakers behind the screen, sub woofers, and left and right stereo surround channels).

There will be a special 12:01 AM showing on Thursday, May 19th (Wedesday night).  Advance tickets for Star Wars are now on sale.

Im very suprised. There are theatres ALOT bigger than the one in Elk Grove, yet they are the first ones to add the Kodak digital system. Pretty badass IMO. Plus its only 3 minutes from my place. ;) B)
