3800 EGR Blockoff

I recently removed my egr, and I need suggestions on how to block off the intake side. I have a plate with a hole in it for a bolt to go through that I have tried bolting to the intake manifold and using copper rtv all the way around the plate. However, I am still getting a vacuum leak right there. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I cut the stock flange off the EGR pipe. Then made a gasket to go between, and rtv'd it. Didn't leak.

EGR lets inert gases into the combustion chamber to prevent KR by suffing out charge and lowering cylinder pressure.

That equals less power.

You want as much stuff in there that can go boom, at the highest possible pressure.

That equals more power.

The trick is to do it w/o knock.

I haven't had a functioning EGR in my car for 2 years.

I cut off the tube portion on the manifold side and rtv'd a penny under the remaining part and bolted it up. I have no leaks either.

I took extra aluminum around the garage, cut it, drilled it, rtved it and bolted it.


Later i used metal epoxy puddy and filled the hole.....
