On the heads, stick with the stock valve sizes, a mild street/strip port, and a 3-4 angle valve job. You'll gain a lot of flow and HP with just that. From what I've seen the bigger valves will only hurt flow unless the runners are reshaped. Ask them about bronze valve guides too. There is some controversy about accelerated wear with them, but it's been my experience that bronze guides improve seal because of tighter tolerances, and I had no troubs with them wearing sooner. However, machine shop should know best.

the "new" motor blew a hold through the block. the piston as i understand it cracked at the wrist pin and worked its way through.
the old motor has some mileage on it, im assuming he wants it freshened up so he doesnt have to do it a 3rd time. he just did the trans, so he might as well do the motor and call it a day.
