3800 Got a crazy idea

If it all possible, and i heard this has been done before, how much would it cost and where could i go to get my car converted to a 5 speed manual? I always wished my car came in stick, and i heard somewhere that someone had done it, but they didn't know how, is there like a trans shop that can do this? i know it would be pricy, but it's just an idea for maybe in a couple years.

I think they get it from a 87 or so olds or buick car....lesabre maybe......


It take a serious amount of time to do........its no joke. I think only 1-2 people have actually done this.

Ya i know, but i would be willing to do it though, it's just i would have no clue how to do it, and i dunno how much it would cost, but i thought it would be pretty damn cool though, cause i love drivin stick, i miss my jeep so much, especially most today with all this snow.

talk to brianteel on clubgp, he knows ALOT about this. The major problem is that you need to use the Getrag transmission and there are no replacement parts at all for these transmissions, so if you run into a problem it cant be rebuilt, you must buy a new one.

I thought I read somewhere the new G6 GTP 6 speed would mate with our engine?? That could be something to look into.
