3800 New to Grand Prix's.....

Hello all. I'm going to be looking at a Grand Prix on sunday.

Its a 97 GTP 2 door.

The guy said it has leather, heated seats, chrome fat 5 spoke rims and in good shape.

I asked h im if it had the dual climate control and he said he didn't know what that was. So i'm assuming it doesn't have it.

My question to you guys is, if I buy the Dual Climate HVAC will it properly fit in its place or is it not possible.

GPs have dual climate control? I know it wasn't an option on my 04 GTP Comp G ... but dunno about prior years

yes mine does.

and i dunno if u can install a new one. I'm sure it would fit but i dunno personally how that all would hook up.

well you can, but it requires replacing almost everything. One guy did it from OK (Animal, and now Hannibal). It is not a simple swap.

how does a salesman not know what dual climate control is? that's funny. if it has 3 big knobs it's not dual climate.

Some years have dual climate, and some have dual digital climate controls. My GT was blessed with dual digital.

my 01 has it. if you try to put it in...you have to do more work to it.

its a PITA to change the fan setting fast......

the dual climate controls just a PITA because its an atc system which is that the climate control has its own pcm in it it controls the fan and can pull its own codes so the manual over ride to choose fan speed can be a bee otch

I retract that statement! I thought I heard that the 97 GTPs didnt have dual climate control, well I am wrong.
