3800 Race fuel alternative

[GTP4ME]

Just wondering what the best race fuel alternative is. I want to run the car this weekend
and have no idea what really works and where to get it. I've seen the torco stuff on websites
but I don't know if it is sold at local auto parts stores.

Torco is about the only one that works...

but... it does foul your plugs, and injectors, with extended usage. I was using about a can of it a week or so.. and didn't have any problems.. until recently (about 5 months of usage every week) Misfires like crazy. Cleaned my injectors, replaced plugs and wires, and everything is good again.

Best thing to do.. is buy real race fuel, but if you are in a crunch, Torco does work wonders. It's about 15 a bottle.

I've used Moroso octane booster, and it works. Not sure if they even make it anymore, use to get it at Winner's circle in Joliet. Like everyone else, I'd shy away from any of the additives. They foul your plugs, and aren't as effective as race gas. You can get 100 octane race gas at a number of places in the Chicago area. Most Gas City's have the Union 76 stuff, and it's pretty good.

i can look around my garage, i think i have 10 gallons of 100 unleaded somewhere, i know i have 15 gallons of 109 unleaded, but thats my private stash, lol
