how do i revert to service pack 1 withoure reformatting... long story short... freezes causing me to want to go back to sp1.

Do you ever backup your computer?? You could just revert to an earlier date. Just back up all your files that you recently added to a cd.

What type of problems are you having.

I will not migrate my work PC's to SP2 until the bugs are worked out the beta testers had numerous bugs so I assume the SP2 final would also be full og bugs.. I usually wait 4-6 months..




There is the ability to remove Windows XP Service pack 2 in the "Add/Remove" programs section.



You can also use your original XP disc and repair your XP with SP1 (not the best choice)

Read some of the technet on microsofts site

Wierd, what type of problems are people having? I upgraded a week or two ago and havent had a problem since.....I guess maybe im lucky.

sp2 actually fixed my problem with my computer. There is still some crap I don't like (Windows Security Alerts)

your computer should have made a system restore point before it installed SP2. use the system restore tool and revert your comp back to when it was without SP2
