i am not sure i understand your ?....but if you are asking if you need 1.6 rockers with a cam ...YES..you need stock rockers with a cam....if you dont get a cam then get rockers they are great!

Your only advantage is weight savings. Will you notice an actual improvement...maybe at the top end it will pull a bit harder.

...and Rob Archer from Indy is running a VS cam with Gen 5 blower, LS1 TB, 42.5 lb injectors, fwi, 2.8, hptuners, on stock rockers, exhaust manifolds, heads, and diff and he ran a 12.48@109

yes, get the roller rockers with a cam. having a roller on the rocker is less friction. they are heavier, but well worth it and them some. get the cam, and the 1.6 roller rockers. you will be very happy in more ways then one.

Just doesnt seem like the gains would be that huge.

What about 1.7s or would that make lift to high with the cam I'm putting in?

I liked the idea of the 1.6/1.7 hybrids I assume the 1.7 is for the exhaust valves, which would be sweet.

Not worth it for the cams out there. I can't speak for the Stg 4, Thrasher, or XPZ cams, but with the currently availible lift, not worth the 5hp. We have "roller rockers" stock. The main friction is in the pivot, the "full roller" just gives you the roller tip. The stock arms are also pretty stiff, no real probs there.

All in all its not worth the money until you get into the 11's, if then.

Every rocker option including stock has had roller pivot. But the Intense Gen 3, ZZP Comp Cam Rockers, and the SLP Aluminum Rockers all have roller tips in addition to the roller pivot.

All other rocker arms have had a roller pivot, but not roller tips. Since most of them were just reworked stockers.

well maybe not,

its not the gains so much its just less friction and wear and tear in the valve train. that whats so good about the roller ones.

but yeah, i guess for the money, the stock ones are fine. but the rollers are that much better.
