3800 Installed Thrasher CIA

I installed my Thrasher CIA, and the Car actually feels a little sluggish, and I am getting a whiny noise (maybe the SC) as opposed to the deep "Chakoom" noise I had with previous intakes on the Cougar...

Any comments...

The whine is normal. I didnt know the CIA had a THrasher division. :lolsign:

The cai makes the car a lot louder at start up...

I know that adding an open element intake increases engine noise, but usually I have associated an intake with a deep "swooshing" sound. The only thing I can imagine is that because the car has a SC then the "whine" of the charger becomes more apparent.
In my Cougar, when I added an intake, the engine produced a deep rumble that was really great when accelerating. My GTP doesn't do this at all, instead I get that whine.
Now I HAVE to get an exhaust right away to get my nice growl back!!!

Thanks for the input, by the way has anybody ever gotten any "moosing" from the intakes on there GTP's?

"Moosing" is only with the FORDs duratech V6's. Been doing it for years, and ford can't seem to fix it...

Its normall, relax....it will only get louder the more mods and smaller pullies.

Good stuff, thanks for the input.
Consequently, I asked about the moosing sound because I got that occassionally on my Duractec.

I figured the whine was the SC, as SC's do that, but I didn't expect it to be so pronounced..

Relaxed, good stuff, Borla time next...

The DOHC 2.5 is going to sound a heck of a lot different than the supercharged 3.8. Give it a month, you'll be looking for mods to make the whine even louder.
