3800 gauge help

I am installing Boost, A/F, and Tranny temp.

First, Where is a good spot for the ground?

Second, Can I run all the power for the lights into one wire and just attach that to the dimmer?

you can use the metal on the pillar for ground, and u can run all the lights together to the dimmer

Where did you tap in for the 12v power source. I tapped into the pink wire under the steering column and I got no power to my AF or tranny temp gauge.

yeah pink ignition wire. ther is couple pink ones there the ignition is the FATTEST one of them all

ok, I tapped into a 20 gauge wire so I don't think that is it. I will look around again. do you ahve any pictures or it? I can't find any on the interenet.

I tapped into that pink wire and the gauges aren't working. I got the lights working and the dimmer hooked up but that pink wire isn't giving out the power I need.

I may just run it over to the fuse box on the passenger side.

In the protection section there is a hook up for the trans temp gauge. I think this one has a picture that is pointing to the pink wire for ignition on power.

I tried hooking up 2 gauges' power source to the dimmer - so that wont work. Only way to dim them is if the actual gauge has a dimmer wire.

I ended up running the power into the fuse box in the passenger side. It works fine now. My AF gauge stays pegged at Rich (1 V) all the time though. O well, enough for today.

if it stays pegged at rich it usually means that the blue wire going to the pigtail isnt getting a strong signal, or any signal at all

I just went and checked, I soldered the wire to the purple wire (that is the right one, right?) :smokepoke:

I wonder if the gauge is bad. Is there anyway to check?
