3800 Is this normal after intallation...

Well I installed my DHP and I have noticed the firmer shifts which are cool. But when cruising around town doing roughly 30 or so, my car will jerk when it shifts, not hard or rough, but is it making a downshift here or something? When I am going that speed it will shift differently then it did pre-DHP. So I have to keep it going around 35 or so, so that my car won't do this weird shift thing. Please tell me that this is normal.

I mean if this isn't normal, let me know. I cannot afford a new tranny. Is there anything I can do to turn the performance shift function off and on, or in a GT is it always on?

its normal and a good thing. arounf 35-40 in 3rd i think it drops it into 1st for a brief moments then second and back up just like if you had a stick and were racing.

Could I do that custom install of a Performance Shift on/off button like the one found here (http://www.rivman.com/perfshift.htm)? So I could turn the performance shift off and on to prevent this jerking shifting, and prevent wear on my tranny?

sorry to sound like a newb, but I just want to prevent my tranny for getting beat up. Cause I can't afford a new one!

i assume if your car dosent have one you can. but if it dosent it should not be on therefore you would then be ableto turn it on and shift harderd.

i know fish installed one in his GT ..you might wanna ask him how he likes his!

Basically the performance shift just raised my shift points. So if you hard wire it in, you will shift at different points in different gears. I like it. Just get valve springs if you ever do rockers so you dont get float going that high.
