3800 New toy...

I got an awesome new toy that I need to do some work on. It's an 85' Honda CX500 Turbo. That's right, a stock turboed bike. It has 17,000 miles and needs some motor work and a little patching on the farring, but I'm happy nonetheless. It's my first bike.

It's going to take a bit to fix up so I'm looking for another cheap (less than $1000) bike to ride for awhile. Much appreciated if you guys would keep a look out.

Holy Crap man, those are so cool!!! I love the CX500 Turbo's, they're from my era. The other Bike I love is the original Honda CBX 6-cylinder with the touring package. They look very similar to your Turbo but a bit bigger. Lou Ferigno used to play a character on a short-run TV series where his signiture move was to pop wheelie's on it to save the day! Congratulations on the new addition.

I am very excited... I just found out today that it is also shaft drive! Low maintenance.

Chains are maintanence, I've been through 3 @ 16K miles, but I also have a lightweight 520 chain conversion on 153WHP.

Best et so far 9.86 @136mph, but it was the first stock bike to do a 9.99 1/4 mile in magazine testing. I think they cheated, the best stock time I could get on it was 10.4's.

Those magazines use 9 year olds to do the testing though.
