MY question is this...I went from 11lbs of boost with a 3.4 to 7-8 now....does that sound right?


I'm gonna get the 3.25 on it to see what she pulls for knock...hopefully ZERO....but we'll see.



It just changed the sound of the car...I get way less drone now inside the cabin when i'm cruising at 70-75....is that normal too?

That's a pretty big drop in boost, but you had to have tons of boost stack before to see 11lb's of boost with a 3.4 pulley. Largest I ever saw with a 3.4 was 9 on average 10 at most.

That means that the cam really did help your motor breath, and thus making it more efficient boost.

The less of the drone is probally because it is flowing air much better now.... Id imagine.

I had a full exhaust, downpipe, ubend resonator removed, and ported front mainfold and according to the boost gague it was 10 avg, 11 at most....

Dole, what are your plans for a trans?....Thats the only thing holding me back from the cam install this summer or fall. Cant afford that damm intense trans.

my plan is drive it till it breaks. My friend who did the swap is rebuilding a trans as we speak...he's got a vs cam, and i got the 1x....its just a matter of who's goes 1st.

What cam did you get? Cams are awesome. I have the thrasher and you are right, it is a whole new car with one

its the 1x...its a daily driver and I didn't wanna do head mods...but its great, its like the first time ya go to a 3.4


i put in the new springs, retainers, pushrods, lifters, and I don't know what else.


Now i'm just trying to come up with that 3.25

ya gotta change something..LOL

Rob on here told me what it was, you gotta order it off of thrasher...its basically tricks the car, and you can run a higher lift cam...I don't remember exactly how it worked. The 1x is the biggest(bigger than vs) you can run without modifying the car.

it has the custom valve seals so you're able to run a bigger cam. Hopefully Rob will chime in here and he knows about them.
