w/FWD it's kinda difficult in that... ideally yes you want to get them wet and then heat them up... but after they're warm the rear wheels have to go through the water box :( which drags the water up to the starting line (and right where RWD cars need traction to take off)

As long as the track officials will allow it though... it's easier on your car if you get some water on the tires before spinning them

that depends.... first, what kind of DR`s?? if you are talking nitto`s or similar, no, dont take them to the box. If you are talking MT ETstreets, then yes.
Nittos and the like are still street tires that have ALOT of tread.. they are just a softer/stickier compound. Most tracks will not let in the box with these...
go around the box with these and do a few quick burnouts on your way to the lights.

take your ETstreet DR`s to the box for sure. They are slicks actually with tiny little grooves in them to pass the DOT classification.

With slicks or DR's don't do you burn out in the puddle part of the water box, pull forward alittle. Otherwise you will throw water into the wheels well then when you sit at the starting line a little water will drip onto your tires. This of course is worse with the DR's due to the tread pattern.
