Well that's it for now, We have about 6,000$ invested into this motor as of right now. That's all we gonna do for now, prob. but the suspension stuff on. The next year will be the Trans and hopefully a Ford 9inch. Then the year after that will be the body work and paint. so prob. 3 years and this beast will be complete. But i will keep you guys updated on all the pictures and info for the car. Heres a photoshop pic of what were thinking of making the car look like when it's complete.

And i'll bring it out as soon as the motor is all put in and show it to whoever wants to see it

Thanks guys

Have fun with the stock rear end! On my '79 cutlass with the 428 Pontiac I replaced 3 rears (Pinion gear blew up in all cases) I was able to source a Chrysler 8 3/4" rear with 4.30 gears and posi reletively cheap. You need to get some custom fabrication done to use one, but they are more efficient than the Ford 9". As far as transmissions go, stick with the Turbo 350 if you can. It takes less power to run it than the 400, and has better gearing. The stock metric 200 or TH700 may slow you down with the extra gear (the Olds motor should make a good broad powerband to 6000 rpm). I built many TH350s and they can holld a lot of HP for the money. Rebuild kits are like 60-70 bux, shift kit 50 bux, hardened sprag 70. With just that and extra clutches was running reliably over 500hp. The extra clutches can even be done yourself (real easy). Sorry for the wordy reply, I like those style GM intermediates. No one was running them when I built mine in the late eighties, and it's cool to see people into them now. BTW, ditch the bumpers on the drag car, the stock bumpers weigh a ton (after much weight reduction got my car to 2600 lbs)

Were not gonna race the car until next year, were just gonna get the motor in and drive it for a little bit to break it in. Next summer were gonna have the trans sent out and re-built and beefed up then were gonna put a Ford 9 Inch rear end in there or a 12-bolt, but i'm hoping for the 9 inch.
