:eek3: ummmm what car did you recently buy opening this thread seems to have made me forget?

holy hell that setup looks clean!

more specs damn it full details donchu hold out on us!

i may have said fvck it with my 3800 disasters but its still fun to watch others sink money into them!

Well.. the old setup got me to 10.4's.... with the ZZP converter failure (2000+ TCC RPM Slip) I was dead in the water on going any faster.
So laundry list of things been in process since...

Grand Am Front Brakes

Rear suspension upgrades.

Heads were taken apart and cleaned up again and new guides.
136# springs and T&D Rockers added.
Then got a set of brick sized valve covers from Kevin Yates to fit over the rockers.
Didn't want 4 valve cover gaskets with spacers.

Block was taken apart and cleaned up and had to get crank machined to clean it up.
Still stock 200k+ mile crank/rods/pistons ... Just new bolts/bearings/rings.

Wasn't planning on running it yet, but now has the STR6 race cam from ZZP that they used in their drag car.

Lower mount setup to remove upper mounts.

Alternator moved down low.

Battery was moved to trunk.

Tubular headers are in the works.

Upgraded to Precision 7675 .81ar ball bearing turbo

All new Transmission. Switched to 2.93" GMR set. GMR Input shaft. GMR output shaft. Already had the GMR Torsen.
Precision Converter, triple disc locking converter with spacer plate to make it fit. Plans to lock in all of 2nd-3rd.
Experimetal stealth Trans brake (4th is removed, which is fine as it was already in my old trans build)
Support bracing installed.
2nd gen Sonnax 3rd piston (one everyone has used for last few years have an issue)
Deep transmission pan.
Plus some other tricks I guess Dave is doing. Basically going for the most built 4T65e ever done.

Might be a few little things I am forgetting...been a long process.
Crossing fingers its ready for the meet... been waiting so long on this I may be developing some
kind of condition from it.. :)

Very nice! Shooting for 9's?

I was shooting for 9s with the old setup.. ;)

If wasn't for the converter issue, I have no doubt it could have been done.

Looking for deeeeeeeep 9s.... maybe 8.9x ??

Gotta drop 1.42 seconds to get 8.99 ... I think that should be doable.
I do have lexan glass for front/rear to put in and fiber glass hood,
and some other stuff to lighten it up... tho Carpet/console/seats are going
back in to make interior look complete again.

I'll have to get cage upgraded to 10pt... so the dash needs pulled to do so
and figure there is good chunk of weight in there to remove and still keep
heat working.

I'd like to get to at least 2900lbs before driver and not look like a gutted shell of a car.

At least I got the car into the 10s at one point :)

Never expected it to be 2.5 years at TEP ... but at least some good I hope will come out
of this all, as he's gone way beyond the original request of work to be done.

Its suppose to be at Dave's new house shop any day now... so he can wrap up welding
all the new pipes and bolt on left overs and get it rolling.... so will see how that goes.

wanna buy a zex dru kit for like 200 bucks?

take it away.

Eh... the above kit I posted is probably what will go with.

To be honest, Dave and I have talked about it quite a few times
over the past 2yrs... heck I could have bought the kit for all I know already
and it's sitting over there collecting dust.

The kit is nice as its controller/setup is designed to work for turbo lag
and ramp off. Just need a nice shot to get it spooled up quickly :)

The other thinking was, it being a nice ball bearing turbo and using
the pcm to run e85 real rich, and the trans brake, is I may not need nitrous.

I figure if I really want to try for 8.99 run, I really need at least 750whp at
my weight (or target weight I guess) to obtain it.
