3800 Tested Gutted Airbox vs Wizair

I just picked up a wizair to replace my gutted air box with a K&N drop in

Mods are (besides the intakes): 3.0 pulley, VS cam, 180 tstat, NGK TR6 plugs, Ported Manifolds, 3" DP -> 3" pipe -> stock Y -> stock mufflers.

Here is some of the basic data I picked up
Temperature was 71degrees with 47% humidity. Pressure was 30.28.

50mph - 80mph
Gutted Airbox - 4.60 sec
Wizair - 4.43 sec

MAFF at idle
Gutted Airbox Average - 2300
Wizair Average - 2400

MAFF at revlimiter while in park
Gutted Airbox Average of 3 tries - 9204
Wizair Average of 3 tries - 9350

Overall I am pleased with the Wizair, I have to get my AFC1.0 in still to fix my 02's. I also should have done the tests with my 3.25 where I would see no KR, instead of my 3.0. Also, the fitting of the Wizair is VERY tight. Maybe at IDD I will have someone look at it and help me get it fitting better.

considering the cost difference between DIY and the wizair, do you think there's enough difference (butt dyno) to merit buying an airbox?

Well, it started to rain after I finished doing the last run. So I am going to wait until it is dry out and do some 0 - 100 runs instead of these short bursts I was doing earlier today.

It only sprinkled and I took out the car again, I can definently feel a difference. The car pulls much harder up top and feels better even crusing around 40 mph. As for is it worth the money? Only way for me to tell will be at IDD. See if I can run better than a 13.9@100.

I could only hit a 14.1 with a 3.25 and 0 kr, the 13.9 was with a 3.0 and 3 - 4 kr.
