3800 2000 Grand Prix GT vs 2000 Volvo s80 T6 *VID*

Well... Friday night at the BK races, My buddy Jon (turbo brick) squared off against James (iliveonnitro). And i must say James has a lot of potential, The race was pretty even once they hit the 1/4 mark. (going off of james hitting 95mph, which usually means around 1/4) Jon may have been declared as 1/2 car ahead at the end. I must say those volvos are quick... but if they didnt have that turbo...they would be nothing... Compliments on both guys for an excellent race, I was sitting shotgun in James' car and Jon was with a passenger in his volvo.. so 2:2 ratio.

0-60: 6.6 (car-stats)
1/4 Mile: 14.9(car-stats) more closer to 14.7 for his personal car.
1/4 MPh: 95mph

Hrm, 95 MPH is kinda high for a 14.9. Usually GTs hit 15.0-14.9 at 90 MPH. COol race, but that looked like it was from a roll. Gotta give the GP an advantage and go from a dig once.

dig? It was from a dig... sry didnt state it before... the video just started at about 10 mph... poor camera work by my other friend. James did beat him off the line fairly easily... but nothing can compare to those turbos.

dude.. you really gotta size these pics down a bit.. most people aren't running at high res's like us...

try and keep them at no more than like 320x240... or.. at a max.. 640x480.. I don't want to have to put restrictions on.. but.. I gotta keep an eye open for our 56k users...

i didnt have the time to do that... i kinda dragged them right off his garage pictures... i will think of that next time. Its only 53kb anyways... each pic can be downloaded in 10 seconds for 56k.

Ya my friend works at a Volvo dealership in Lisle. He had a S80 T6 out once and I raced him in my at the time stock GTP. They arent quick off the line, but once they get going they're quick. I took him by two cars off the bat, and held 2 til finish. Then we went from a 30-40 mph roll, and we were dead even.

I honestly cant remember if I was completely stock or if I had my intake on.

Look out for the S60 R's those are quick.

In the vid you can actually see me pulling on the lower end...and I pulled until the end of 1st gear, then he started to gain on me after the 1-2 shift.


Can I borrow your cam for more street races? It woulda been funny vid taping me race that cavvy that i spot 4 cars and beat by 3 for $10

If you look real close at his Tach... after he maxes out first gear, when you see the needle drop, thats when you start to gain, then once u max out your gear (hence you running 600 rpms higher than him) he starts to gain on you.

I was more talking about the resolution.. anyway.. just please follow what I ask... Would make life easier on a lot of people... not everyone runs at 1600x1200 like us...
