3800 12 SEC .QUESTION .....

iam curious to know a "ballpark" figure as to how much it generally cost to get a GP in the 12's . i am contemplating skipping all the Bs and just finding one already there , seeing as iam NOT very mechanically inclined . i can sell my car locally for the price i could buy a 12 sec gp for well darn near . granted it wouldnt be the proudest thing i have done but what the hell . it might be one of the brighter things in the long run . i guess you could say its a "gauging interest"

with your current mods, i would think if you throw another $1000 at the car (maybe some Togs and a 3.25) i could see you being in the low 13's with good conditions and a good launch....

iam thinkin i will try to buy the 12 sec car . i just dont want to be in a car for 10-12k , and then sell it for 7-8k and lose a ton of dough . iam sure i will grow proud of the car eventually

Buy an F-body..Im currently considering a WS6 myself. You can hit the 12's alot cheaper than moding the GP...Dont get me wrong I love my grand prix I just have always wanted the WS6 and now I can afford to get a nice used one...

To hit 12's. You will definately need a cam and heads. And an IC.

I think everyone knows what I would suggest
But it is true. Get an intercooler and a smaller pulley. That will be under a grand and it will be a hell of a lot faster. You should be able to beat a WS6 also. I know I smoke the shit out of them

Are you u talking about high 12's? With all of that, it should be at least mid 12's.

the reason i asked this question , is because i happen to see another members car for sale on clubgp , that is running 12.4 (with NOS) he is asking 8k for the car . i have had offers locally for my car around the 7500 range . do the math ...

in regards to buying an F- body .. i think the gp is one of the prettiest cars on the road , i cant think of many more all around "practical" cars .. that are as fun to drive, comfortable ,sporty ...etc...
