I'm helping out my mother in law's new husband with this. He had a low coolant problem, so we rolled it in my garage. I topped it off then ran it it was setting a MIL, so I hooked up the A-tap and we got a misfire on cyl 2. Turned off the car, pulled the plug, it was soaked with coolant. I thought bad head/bad head gasket, but the car hydrolocked and wouldn't turn. I pulled off the f-duct and low and behold, water poured out. With him running low on coolant, the level never got high enough to leak there until we topped it off. At the dealership I was told the upper manifold will disenegrate at the TB seal and it would more than likely need to be replaced. Is this as common a problem as the guy's describing? He seemed pretty sincere about it happening a lot. And is it difficult to find a used one? The dealer price is $300 for the part, $40 for the gaskets. TIA
