I just have to vent. It seems everytime I turn around a new "mystery bill" pops up. This one's a doozy...I called a technical help line printed in a manual for a new computer component I was having trouble with. This was back in December 2002; I don't even remember what the piece was it's been so long. Anyway, so I call this 800 number and a recorded message tells me that I will be charged per minute when a technitian gets to me. I sat on hold for 40 minutes, and no one picked up, so I hang up. Low and behold my next month's phone bill has a $106 charge on it from them. I dispute it with the phone company, then with the service and it is resolved (took a little over a months woth of phone calls). So I get this bill in the mail for it today, and I call about it. They tell me to pay it, or cough up $3000 in lawyer's fees, I tell them what happened and that I won't pay it. They tell me "see you in court" then hung up on me. Twice! WTF! I called the phone company today, but they just bounce me around to 5 different people that tell me they need to find someone else to help me (big surprise), all I'm getting out of them is copies of my bills from that time period. So next I try to get the number to the service company, and it's some woman's cell phone number. I think a lawyer is in my future. I realize they are trying to pressure me with the "big bill" and they may never take it to court, but I'm pissed now and wan't all that time back I've wasted on this, or at least monetary compensation for my time. I'd be happy to just stick them with my legal fees. $106 dollars is not that much money, but they can suck my dick for it. Thank you for listening...
