Help me convince my buddy not to cut his stock springs

Lmao, I need to tap into the TCG 3800 knowledge, my friend has a 1999 GTP and he wants to cut his stock springs to lower the car, I am trying to talk to him out of it lol

I did a search and found nothing on it, most guys just replace the springs with aftermarket ones but he is cheap and don't want to spend big money on springs

On my 05, the top and bottom coil of the spring are smaller than the rest. So in my head if you cut the spring, it wont sit on the strut properly. Thats the only reason I didn't cut my SSC springs after they didn't lower the front of my car at all.
