Yeah, i switched over to synthetic at 32000. Before that I had a dry as bone block. Now i have a layer of oil on both sides. I haven't pulled anything off the engie that could cause a leak, so i attribute it to the synthetic leaking through the valve cover seals. Oh well, when i tear into the engine Ill worry about it.

Also, I thought if you switched to synthetic you want to do a synthetic blend for an oil change or two first. Then go to full blown synthetic after that.

I switched to the synthetic blend for a while and then over the the full synthetic, and my engine has a nice layer of oil on it from the valve covers. But man did that layer make the exhaust manifold bolts come off without a problem. Was barely any rust on those things when I put on togs. I would highly recommend coating your exhaust bolts with oil for a couple months before a header install ;).
