3800 SLP 1.8's vs Intense 1.9's

What are the advantages and disadvantages of both the SLP 1.8 and Intense 1.9 roller rockers?

The price is similar when taking into account that the SLP's come with pushrods. What reasons are there to choose 1 over the other? Are the 1.8's safer for a daily driver?

Id go with the INTENSE 1.9s. They are both roller rockers, and the INTENSE ones would get more lift than the SLPs. Plus you have to think how much your gonna mod the car. If you really get interested, Id go with a cam. But back to the question, the INTENSE ones are the way to go IMO.

Curiously, do either of the setups make the motor interference? Or is it interference from the start?

depends which set of rockers you are looking at. Either way i would buy intense, but the gen I&II rockers were reman'd stockers. The Gen III are completely new rockers, and no core charge.

The GEN III's are also roller "tip" which is pretty cool to. The pushrods are only 50 bux more anyways. I plan on doing the GEN III's and OR's

Personally, for the money, Id rather go with a cam....I dont like long rockers because they wear out you valve guides faster....More power per dollar...

Have to agree with Rob here. Cam is safer in the long run. Rockers change the valve angle travel. It doesn't change much but it does change.Get a mild cam and you will have more power safer in the long run. Of course either way you go you will need a trans. SNM only had rockers and blew his and he drives like a grandma more then I do.

rockers are way cheaper to install. so if money is a big issue, a cam might be out of your league. that is why i have rockers right now.

btw, my trans breaking had nothing to do with the rockers. only my sun gear ( and the other gears associated with it) were messed up, everything else was ok.
