3800 Video Editing Questions

I have Movie Edit Pro 2004. I bought it to mess around with some video's but my problem is this. I am having a difficult time recording it to my comp from my video camera. I have an s-video connection on my camera and on the laptop. So when i try to record though my software it says its unable to find the device. Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?

I don't know of any laptops that have an S-Video IN connection...

most likely.. that S-Video connection, is an OUT connection, not IN.

if you are looking to capture video on your laptop, you would need to get a USB capture device.. or if you have a firewire connection, use that..

but.. it is all speculation without seeing the laptop...
