Check ball fell out?!? 3800 guru's please help.

I am in the process of installing a cam in an L32 and while removing the timing cover a check ball (approx 1/4" dia.) fell out and I don't know where it came from. I also have the oil filter adapter off (its not the oil pressure relief valve as I have that). Anyone have any ideas?? I have had several of these motors apart and have never seen this little check ball but if its supposed to be in there I want to make sure it goes back in the right spot.

no check balls inside the 3800

you may have found a ball from a grenade'd wheel bearing that was just stuck on top of the cover behind the wp

Thank you so much! I have been through exploded view diagrams and all over trying to find where that darn thing went. I had come to the conclusion that it probably didn't go anywhere but needed verification.
