3800 Intake Restriction

Today I was at Home Depot and found this perfect cover for my 9" K&N cone air filter. Currently I'm running an open cone. The cover has a conical shape and the taper is parallel with the cone air filter. When installed the filter is enclosed. My question is, with only a 3/4" clearance from the air filter to the cover, is there going to be a large restriction. Thre are no closed ends on the cover, you can see right through it. If I remember correctly, there was a CAI a while back that had the cone enclosed in a similar setup. I will try to post pictures of it which might give a better visual representation.

Yes, please post pic. If I understand correctly, you are encasing the cone filter in a cone enclosure and there is 3/4" airspace all around. If this is correct, it may be too restrictive. You would want like 2" or more all around, it sounds like a lot, but that's at a minumum.
