it *COULD* be some type of virus, although I've never heard of one that does that specifically. With windows and newer cd-rom drives, windows can send a software command to open the drive door. Either windows is crapped out and its triggering this, or there some type of program on your machine that is doing this, or the cd-rom is crapped out.

I would scan for viruses. You more than likely have one. On your computer that is.

Do you have younger siblings? My son likes to put stuff in there that causes it to jamb, but it just holds it open.
