which water pump

[Alacran]

There two delco water pumps. i assume one is a plastic impeller and the other is metal.

Which water pump is the best in regards to flow and performance?

I am running Zerex G05 coolant

Does anyone have a water pump for sale in case my pump goes completley out before the replacement arrives?

I just ordered the pump.

My pump started leaking this morning and i think it hold out for a few days.

mine didnt last a day once the pulley started to chatter. never leaked though. make sure you have gallons of watter to keep you from running hot.

why did you choose to order online rather than picking one up from a parts store.

just trying to keep my options open. i really like the water pump with the metal gasket. I am just looking for a plan B.

after work i am driving straight to jewel to pick up gallons of water.

well the pump failed in a glorious fashion. locked up solid.

Not only did the engine overheat but i was SOL on an accessory belt and the timing chain cover is scoured.

Engine is running with new pump...so far no leaks but i am not happy with cooling performance at idle.

it might take a while to burp any air that got into the system.
