The FWI has served me well, but I'd like to do something different now. As shown in the high-tech diagram below, it's a FWI/CAI hybrid. The FWI works well, but the element is constantly dirty, and it's hard to service. I'm building the box from sheet steel with welded seams, after it's completed it'll be sent to Jet-hot. With this design I can eliminate bends. The open area after the cone acts as a manifold. The tube to the TB will be a "hump" hose that will allow some movement of the engine. The inlet will be sealed off to the fender. If it works out, I'll keep the templates for it if anyone wants one. I love projects like this...it gives me an excuse to go and buy more specialty tools!
