3800 When I bore out my engine, what size .....

When I bore out the engine (real soon) what size do you think I should go with? .010 or .020.
I have heard that you should only go .010 because then I can still use the block if I have to bore it again. But I do not care about that since I can get another block for like $200.
SO, I might as well go 20 over just to get every little bit of HP possible, right?
It is not supposed to help much, but it is a little.( I think like 5HP)

DO you think it will weaken the block for my NOS setup I am gonna do?

oh, fyi sr, he broken the top of the #1 piston. So that is the reason for the bore out.

How do you extend the stroke on these cars? I would definitely look into it. Anything that can be done for power while you have the block sitting on a skid, I would like to do now instead of later

you have to get a longer throw on the crank. i wouldnt worry about it. just go .020 over with 8.0 compression, because if i know you like i think i know you, you will get too used to the power from a M90 and you say there will be nothing left to do to the motor. then you will want a M112. i think i know you and i do think you will go this route in time. this is just my .02

To get the extra throw for a stroker, you need to offset grind the crank. You will need custom pistond for this. There's a shop in MI that's done it already. Do a search on clubgp to find the contact info.

if you went 20 over wouldn't that be awefully close to cutting through the factory sleaves? 10 over seems like it would be plenty... 20 over just seems like too much unless you're resleaving the block

ZZp is about to offer a stroker kit. 4.1L. You should send them an email and tell them your situation. They may decide that you are a great test mule.


Sounds like a blast to me. No replacement fordisplacement, except for more boost.

I think the 4.1L kit is available for the gt's right now. It bumps the compression up to 10.0:1, but im not sure about the GTP kit. they basicalyl regrind the crank and use a differnt cr to increase the displacement.
