3800 Differentials

I need some help deciding which differential to put in my car if I were to put one in my car. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Is the one we can get from miker the same on that's on thrashercharged.com? I've also been looking at the one from intense, but I can't tell a difference, and/or don't know what to look for.

the one from miker is the same as the one on the thrasher site, also, if you are thinking of getting an INTENSE, i would wait till the Gen 2's are out

i would go with C-Ya's. intense diff is a 1 wheel burn out...those who were at 02 GPG know what i mean..I'll try to find the picture tonight.

Will the C-ya fit a GT?? I never asked, but INTENSE has one for the GT and the GTP. I would contact Miker and ask if the C-ya will fit the GT.

ok.. here is my opinion.. from someone who has had both.

even tho I blew a C-Ya diff to shreds, i would recommend it.

I have the intense diff now (came with trans) and i dont like it. I am always getting 1 wheel burnout except in perfect track conditions.
Now, the Intense gen 2 diff will prove to be superior to the one they have now and will fix that 1 wheel crap.

conclusion:
u want a diff right now.... go with the C-ya ( i am considering going back to it).
if you can wait for 5 or 6 mon, wait for the gen 2 Intense diff to come out and get some feedback on it from some peeps that bought it.
IMO, i would not bother with the gen 1 intense lsd.

also, I am 80% sure miker can do a GT diff.

is money a big factor here for you. what about the quaife. it is pricey but supposed to be the best. does anybody have any feedback on the quaife, cuz i would love to know also.

Last I heard Mike was able to do GT diff's but it depends if he has the parts in stock for them... I think something like the sun gears are different or something. I think it might take about 4 weeks or something to get the parts he needs for them.

IMO, the quaife is over-rated. way too much $$ for what you get.
Also, I heard that there was a problem with them in that somehow, fluid was not getting to the center of the unit and oiling the planetaries... Not sure if they fixed that defect or not or even if that was true... but i do remember someone reliable telling me that (just cant remember who in my old age!! ).

if you have time get the gen II, otherwise go with miker. I don't think, at least initially, that you will be making nearly enough power to destroy it.

IMO, the quaife is over-rated. way too much $$ for what you get.

You have to take that cost against the cost of 2 or 3 trannies. Then its a steal.

I think if you are making serous power the only safe bet is going to be a Quaife.

So that's atleast 3 people on this site alone that have destroyed a "LSD"

I heard that from the same source you did but so far only from him no other incidences i have heard about yet. I love the quaiffe it rocks and imho well worth the money and pece of mind everytime my tires break loose but i cant sit and roast em no more cuz the car just goes. I made it to florida and back 26 runs with 60 miles on the quaiffe/trans and had no prob what so ever. I dont doubt the other gen 2 diffs arnt good or as good but quaife has been making diffs for year and year for compitition and lifetime warrenty even under race conditions cause that the point of the diff.... to beat on it.

I emailed Scott Cook about his Gen 2's and if there was still the possibility to snap the roll pin. He said yes, that right there is enough for me to get a Quaife.

The same reason i got mine miker said if he had the money he'd buy a quaife no questions asked. So i bought a quaife.
