i think it is 2wd. i don't see a 4x4 shifter...

and it is the stick trans... behind a four cylinder.

Details to put a buick supercharged 3800 into a jeep.

Use a Dakota 4 cylinder bell housing and a jeep 5 speed behind a 3800.

The jeep four cylinder has a GM 60 degree bell housing pattern which it inherits from the old Iron Duke four cylinder. Here is a nice site for gm 60 degree swaps. Engine Swap Bellhousings - Jeeps-Offroad.com Bulletin Board

Now, the 1996-1998 Dodge Dakota came with the 2.5 engine and the ax-15 transmission. As a result, the Dakota bellhousing will allow you to bolt the 3800 to a jeep ax15 or nv3550 transmission. (I have one of these) (It will also allow guys to replace the weak ax5 transmission behind their 4 cylinders with an ax15).

FLYWHEEL/CLUTCH

The L36 flywheel from a RWD Camaro (I have one of these) will bolt to a FWD L36 or L67. Use the pressure plate (I have one of these) from the camaro and you will need a clutch from a 1983-84 four cylinder/four speed. The 9 1/8" outside diameter will fit the camaro flywheel/pressure plate and the 1 1/8" with 10 teeth will fit the jeep transmission input shaft. Here are a couple of sites that really help!!!
