Some converter porn pics from Dave :)

This the multi-disc locking converter from PI with the ORing groove cut into it (thanks to Turbocharged400sbc)

Dave has it next to a stock 258mm and next to a 4L60E version.

Also the GMR input shaft, dave had it machined a little bit, to clean up the end of the splines as he noticed they
stepped up some and could cut into the oring while inserting. There is grease of some sort on it, so why it
looks a bit funny.

While the new converter is not as tall as initially thought, Dave needs to make a spacer to go between the motor and trans
it looks.. will be pretty thin one. Originally thought was going to be 1/4" ... looks like a lot less then that :)

Lookin good. Whats the stall?

3000 is what was requested.. This is from Dave about this..

Its been a while since I first placed the order for this but probably set it up in the 3,000-3,200 range or even a hair looser to get the car to spool quick and not much concern of high rpm efficiency in the higher gears since it can be locked. It will be more efficient than what you had before regardless as they build all converters to match the power adder and vehicle specs, so it is set up for a turbo and will have more torque multiplication to get the car off the line faster which also gets the turbo spinning easier.

if you set it up tighter you wouldnt need to lock it up for back end load :hsughlol:

:)

If it doesn't work out like planned, then can get the stall changed.

Apparently between Dave and PI , they figured 3000 should be just
about right for what the goals with the car is.

Hopefully plans will be locking it once it shifts to 2nd, which is under
a second into the run. Will need to probably switch boost controller for
one that can do gear based, otherwise, that may proove a bit hard
on the launch. The current HKS works well, but lacking gear based
kinda stinks.

I had a stub shaft in my trans like the one pictured with the groove in it. Sheered off clean right at the groove. It's like scoring glass. It creates a weak point. Ford discontinued them for that reason 15 years ago. Asshole trans guy pulled the part off his shelf and installed it when he rebuilt my trans. Rebuilt it again at no charge. I had him by the balls.

Thats the same place all the 3800 guys sheer theirs off too

Turbocharged400sbc figured out to put the oring groove in the hub of the converter so we can run the single piece input shaft... granted its a crazy expensive and unique piece, but if people can run a 300m shaft without the groove then that would solve lots of issues

Dave is good, can't wait until he can start digging into it. Been sitting there
for a few weeks now. Weather hasn't been kind to him up there.

The PRJ trans I have now I could have went this year most likely with
no problems other then just needing to replace the shitty ZZP converter.

Hoping to have car to track by April or May. Like to hit up track then and
see how this all goes. May have to take slicks up, and hit up Muncie to do
some testing on all the new goodies :)
