log in thru admin... haveing admin rights allows full access to your disc and all your files for your specific users.

if your at the loging window where you have choices to select from... pres ctrl+alt+del twice. this will change the login window so that you can type in "administrator" and then the pass word... and vioala or how ever the hell you spell that sill french word.

assuming you left the default XP style... log on as admin, go to control panel, then user accounts, change account, select your account, select change password

then you can log off and log back onto your account... as long as you know 1 account w/administrator group rights you can change any account on the box w/this method

if you changed it to the normal (well... pre xp) useful styling :) control panel, administrative tools, select computer management, then under the users area, select your account, go to properties and change the password

I don't think he was referring to the xp bootdisk from microsoft :) There's software out there for download that fit son a single floppy... you boot off of it, it loads a basic linux kernel and modifies the registry setting any local password to anything you want... effectively bypassing any local security
