3800 Need Valve Cover

I've got an annoying leak coming from the front VC and a new gasket didnt' stop it. The more I looked at it the more it looks warped around the bolt areas (also leaking from the warped spots). Anyone ever have a VC warp from the header heat? Does anyone have one in good shape they're willing to part with for a few bucks? I'd hate to get boned by a dealership or GMpartsdirect.

Sorry if I can't offer much advice.

But the 10.6 second intense turbo GTP, as well as the 10.8 blown gtp are both running stock valve covers...so I think they should be able to handle whatever you put to them.

Maybe they had a bad mold from the factory, and you got caught in it, so anything could easily damage them?


Sorry I couldn't be of better help, or sell my valve covers (i need them). I would try a silicon sealant, like a high temp RV one that you can find at autozone.

You could try Ed Morad on clubgp. I know I did see a valve cover for sale by him a few weeks ago. He might have more.
